The North Pine Dam Fishing and Boating Rules and regulations are maintained by Pine Rivers Fish Management Association Inc. (PRFMA). They provide only 400 vessel permits each year. North Pine Dam Boating Rules

  • Type of Boats

North Pine Dam boating rules say only paddle boats and electric vessels are allowed for boating in the lake. Vessels like canoes, kayaks and small electrical or manual boats are allowed only. You should also know that vessels with internal combustion engines are not allowed for boating.

  • Permit Card

No matter what boat you are bringing, you must collect a North Pine Dam boating permit from Pine Rivers Fish Management Association Inc. (PRFMA). The permit will be issued in the favour of one person only. Other passengers of the boats are supposed to stay attached to that person and are the responsibility of the permit holder. With a single vessel permit, you can bring one vessel only. Also, you must know what is the capacity level of the vessel and bring passengers accordingly to avoid any unwanted circumstances.

  • Vessel Identification Sticker

Alongside the vessel permit, the permit holder will also given a Vessel Identification Sticker which will help to identify the particular vessel and to avoid trespassing. This is one of the most important North Pine Dam Fishing and Boating Rules. Each vessel must attach the relevant Vessel Identification Sticker to avoid confusion.

  • Number of Vessels

Only 400 vessels are given permits each year by PRFMA. Also, one permit holder can be eligible to bring a single vessel only.

  • Family Permits

Family members can collect family Permits from PRFMA. You have to bring the specific number of members along with you which will be duly mentioned in your family permit.

  • Number of Visitors in a Boat

If you are a family permit holder, there could be little restrictions on the number of family members you can bring. But if you are a normal vessel permit holder, you can bring as many passengers as you want. But do remember the capacity of your vessel and don't overload it with passengers.

  • Safety Equipment

All the boats must have safety equipment for the security of the passengers. You must be seaworthy and safe for sailing. There must be safety equipment on the boat which are duly certified and advised by Queensland Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Regulations.

  • Campaigns During Boating

Campaigns are not allowed during boating at the dam. However, you can find relevant accommodation at nearby Murrenbong Scout Campsite Kurwonbah and surrounding areas.
